San Francisco, Potrero Hill
This Victorian flat in the heart of San Francisco was ready for a transformation. The new homeowners—both artists—quickly realized the existing layout did not align with their lifestyle or creative vision. As the first phase of a full-home renovation, the kitchen remodel focused on enhancing functionality, maximizing storage, and introducing an artful, nature-inspired aesthetic. The redesigned kitchen show cases bold, expressive details that reflect the clients’ artistic identities.
A playful tile backsplash forms a mural that sets the tone for the space, while wood countertops and accents echo the clients’ deep connection to nature. In the adjacent dining area, a custom chandelier—crafted by the clients’ friends—brings a refined, Burning Man–inspired character, with its mix of brass and exposed edison bulbs. Thoughtful touches such as concealed cabinet pulls and contrasting finishes add a layer of contemporary sophistication, striking an interesting balance with the home’s original Victorian character. The result is a striking yet harmonious blend of past and present.
